Earlier in 2020, Unicode Consortium has released the emoji 13.0 with 117 new emoji for android, apples, and other platforms. The new release includes 62 new emoji’s and 55 Gender and skin tone Emoji. There won’t be any COVID-19 specific Emoji’s since Approval of Emoji takes around 1-2 years right after submission.
With Worlds Emoji Day passed last week, Apple has announced that they will add 16 new emoji to their new IOS 14. They have also listed the 16 new emoji’s and will be set to roll over later this year. Below is the list of Emoji’s That Were Unveiled by Apple.
Dodo, Nesting Dolls, Piñata, Tamale, Pinched Fingers, Boomerang, Ninja, Coin, Anatomical Heart, Beaver, Transgender Symbol, Bubble Tea, Lungs, Smiling Face with Tear, Disguised Face, People Hugging
Apple will be adding a new way to customize these Emojis, and it can also be used as Memojis for IOS messaging. Typically Apple only previewed on 13 emojis and will include all 117 emojis from Unicode including face mask emojis, which will be available to all users on IOS 14 later this year.
