Facebook revamped its interface for desktop with support for dark mode

Facebook recently revamped its web application with the support for the much anticipated Dark mode. With the recent update, Facebook had removed the visual clutter and made the whole layout much cleaner and appealing.

Facebook in F8 2019 announced that they are working on revamping the layout for its web platform. After a year of testing, Facebook released this latest update to the masses on May 8th, 2020. Facebook, in its official blog post, announced this new visual change for its web platform along with its salient features.

Steps to enable dark mode on Facebook web application

Log in to your account in the Facebook web application.
Click the drop-down menu at the top right corner.
Select switch to new Facebook option from the drop-down menu.
A welcome message screen will appear for the first time with the gist of features in the revamped user interface.
Click next and select the dark theme in the next window.
You can switch back to the light theme by disabling the dark mode toggle from the drop-down account menu at the top right corner.
Likewise, users can also switch back to the classic Facebook from the account menu.

With the latest update, Facebook claims that they have decreased the loading times, and users can find menus easily with a cleaner look and bolder texts.

Facebook previously rolled out the dark mode feature for the Whatsapp and Messenger apps, and the social media giant may follow similar footsteps for the Facebook mobile app in the future.
