The COVID 19 situation had made everyone to connect with their near and dear ones virtually. Messenger, one of the widely used chat platform in the world, expands the availability of screen sharing feature to its mobile applications. Users can now share their mobile screens with other participants in video calls as well as in Messenger Rooms.
With the screen sharing feature, users can share their smartphone screens to an individual or with up to 8 members at a time in a group video call. Users can also share their screens with up to 16 persons in Messenger Room, and this feature is also available in Messenger Room for web and desktop applications. Users can share anything and everything on their smartphone screen with other participants using this screen share feature.
Messenger is also working on increasing the Messenger Room participants from 16 to 50 members and will soon add the ability to control who can share their screen in Rooms. Room creators will also have the flexibility of limiting the screen sharing feature to themselves, or they can even give access to all participants to share their screens.
Previously, Facebook's subsidiary WhatsApp also increased the video and voice call limit from 4 to 8 persons amid this COVID situation. Messenger screen sharing feature is currently available in the latest version of the app for both Android and iOS users across the globe.
