Xiaomi recently unveiled the Mi 10 youth 5G smartphone in China. Mi 10 youth 5G is one of the most affordable smartphones available right now with 5G support. In this post, we will discuss what Xiaomi's latest offering has to offer to combat the intense competition.
Mi 10 youth 5G flaunts a beautiful glass sandwich design. The device boasts a 6.57" FHD+ AMOLED display with 180 Hz touch sampling. The display is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 to prevent it from minor scratches and accidental drops. Since the display tech is AMOLED, Xiaomi incorporated an optical in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the device.
The smartphone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 765G processor. Snapdragon 765G is Qualcomm's latest chipset with integrated 5G aimed for premium mid-range devices. On the GPU front, the Adreno 620 takes care of the graphics performance.
In the camera department, Mi 10 youth 5G is equipped with a quad-camera setup. The primary camera is a 48 MP sensor with f/1.79 aperture. The second camera is an 8 MP periscope lens with f/3.4 aperture and it is backed by split optical image stabilization. The periscope camera can shoot images at up to 5X optical zoom, 10X digital zoom, and 50X periscope zoom. The third camera is 8 MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture with 120 degrees field of view. The final camera is 2 MP macro sensor and, it can shoot images as close as 2 cm. The smartphone boasts a 16 MP front camera with portrait mode and slow-motion video support.
The smartphone is fueled by a 4160 mAh battery with a 22.5 W fast charger included in the box. In addition to this, the smartphone supports Quick charge 4+ and USB power delivery 3.0 for faster top-ups.
The smartphone is available in 6GB / 8Gb of LPDDR4X ram with 64GB / 128GB / 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage with no room for expansion. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 10 with Miui 11 user interface on top of it.
The smartphone is priced at 2099 yuan (Rs.22,500 approx.) for the base variant and can go up to 2799 yuan (Rs.30,000 approx.) for the higher-end variant. The smartphone is available in Blue, Black, White, Mint Green and Peach color options.
The Mi 10 Youth 5G is rumored to be launching as Mi 10 Lite Zoom in other markets. The Indian pricing and availability of the smartphone are yet to be announced by the brand. If Xiaomi manages to bring this smartphone under Rs.23,000 (base model), then Mi 10 youth 5G can easily disrupt the premium mid-range smartphone segment in India.
