OnePlus launches 3 new Android TVs in India starting at Rs.12,999

OnePlus ventured into the TV space back in 2019 with the OnePlus Q series. OnePlus Q lineup of TVs were decent offerings from the brand, but the asking prices for the TVs were too high for a relatively newer brand in the television market. But, fast forward to 2020, OnePlus took the feedback from customers seriously and launched three new models in India with an affordable price tag.

OnePlus TV 55U1

OnePlus introduced a new U series in India, which sits right below their premium Q series of TVs. As the name suggests, 55U1 boasts a 55" 4K panel a display resolution of 3840 x 2160 and has an astonishing 93% of DCI-P3 color gamut. OnePlus TV 55U1 is HRD10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG certified for enhanced user experience. OnePlus has also thrown in its proprietory Gamma Engine technology to improve the visual output. In addition to this, OnePlus TV 55U1 has a bunch of enhancements like MEMC, Noise reduction, Dynamic Contrast, and Color space mapping.

OnePlus TV 55U1 has four speakers, which include two speakers and two tweeters totaling the output to 30W. OnePlus has tilted and positioned the speakers at 90 degrees to improve the bass for a DTS HD surround sound experience. OnePlus 55U1 also comes with Dolby Audio and Dolby Atomos support for better audio quality.

On the design front, OnePlus TV 55U1 has a metallic built and has a carbon fiber texture to the back, and OnePlus strived hard to keep the bezels as minimal as possible. The connectivity ports were neatly tucked inside a plastic enclosure, which helps in eliminating the visual clutter. OnePlus 55U1 TV is also so slim at just 6.9 mm at its thinnest point, which enhances the visual appeal of this television.

OnePlus TV 55U1 has 16 GB of inbuilt storage and 2 GB of RAM runs of Oxygen Play based on Android 9. OnePlus TV  and has built-in Chromecast, Miracast, DLNA, and supports both Google Assistant and Alexa voice control. OnePlus TV supports a bunch of apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, and others right out the box. In addition to this, users can also download their favorite apps from the Play store. The TV also has a dedicated Game mode, Child mode, and data saver mode.

Coming to the connectivity, OnePlus 55U1 TV supports 2.4/5 GHz WiFi bands and Bluetooth 5.0. OnePlus 55U1 TV has 3 HDMI ports (HDMI 1 supports ARC), 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 USB 3.0 port, and a digital audio output port. OnePlus Y series TV

OnePlus launched 32" 32Y1 and 43" 43Y1 TVs in addition to the 55" model. The key difference here is OnePlus has reduced the panel size, and resolution, the 32" model has a 1366 X 768 resolution, and the 43" model has 1920 X 1080 resolution. OnePlus had also cut some corners in the built quality, the Y series TVs are considerably thicker, and less premium when compared to the U series. The Y series TVs also misses out  HRD10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG display certification as a cost-cutting measure. The speakers are also downgraded to 20W (10W*2) and support only Dolby Audio.

On the connectivity front, OnePlus 55U1 TV supports only 2.4 WiFi band and Bluetooth 5.0. OnePlus 55U1 TV has 2 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports, and a digital audio output port. OnePlus TV can be connected with up to 5 smartphones at a time, and you can turn them into virtual remote using the OnePlus connect application.
