Poco M2 Pro launched in India with Snapdragon 720G processor and 33W fast charging support

Poco unveiled their Poco M2 Pro smartphone in India with a snapdragon 720G processor and 48 MP quad-rear cameras. Well, Poco M2 Pro is just a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro Indian variant with just a few design elements borrowed from the Redmi Note 9 Pro global variant. I am also a bit confused about Poco's weird naming nomenclature for their smartphones. Poco just skipped Poco M1, M1 Pro, M2 and directly launched the Poco M2 Pro smartphone in India.

Poco M2 Pro sports similar footprint and dimensions of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Indian variant. To the back, Poco has borrowed some design cues from Redmi Note 9 Pro global variant. In short, Poco M2 Pro is just an amalgamation of Redmi Note 9 Pro Indian and global variants. Poco M2 Pro has 6.7" FHD+ IPS LCD-display protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 to the front and back. The smartphone has a side-mounted physical fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button to unlock your device.

Like Redmi Note 9 Pro, Poco M2 is also powered by the Snapdragon 720G processor, and Adreno 618 GPU takes care of the graphics performance. Poco M2 Pro is equipped with a quad-camera setup where the primary camera is 48 MP regular sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The second camera is an 8 MP ultrawide lens with 119 degrees FOV, and the final two cameras are 5 MP macro and 2 MP depth sensors, respectively. To the front, a 16 MP front-facing snapper is tucked inside a centrally aligned punch hole.

Powering all this is a 5000 mAh battery, and the smartphone is bundled with a 33W fast charger in the box.  Only in the battery department, Poco M2 Pro slightly differs from Redmi Note 9 Pro as Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 5020 mAh battery with an 18W charger bundled inside the box.

On the software department, Poco M2 Pro runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 10 with Poco launcher on top of it. The smartphone comes with a bunch of uninstallable bloatware, including the recently banned hello app. The cleaner app is also powered by the infamous CM cleaner, which is also banned by our Indian government.

Poco M2 Pro is available in Out Of The Blue, Green, and Greener, Two Shades of Black options. The smartphone is available in 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB, and 6GB+128GB configurations and it is priced at Rs.13,999, Rs.14,999 and Rs.16,999 respectively. Except for the fact, it's a rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro, Poco M2 Pro is still a decent smartphone considering its price.
