Samsung Galaxy M series is one of the most popular line up of smartphones from the brand with an excellent price to performance ratio. Samsung Galaxy M31 is the brand's popular offering, and it enjoyed great success among the masses. Samsung Galaxy M31 was the go-to recommendation for someone who considers buying a smartphone under Rs.20,000 from a tier 1 brand.
Samsung is now all set to refresh its successful M31 smartphone in the form of Galaxy M31s. Samsung Galaxy M31s is expected to boast a similar kind of design language to its predecessors. The smartphone will have an L shaped camera module to the rear and will come with a quad-camera setup. The primary camera is expected to be a 64 MP sensor paired with an ultra-wide lens, macro, and depth sensors. Samsung M31 boasted an 8 MP ultra-wide along 5 MP depth and macro units. We can expect a similar kind of camera setup in M31s if not better. Samsung will enhance the camera performance with some software tweaks to make the camera performance of M31s better than its predecessors. To the front, Galaxy M31s is expected to boast a 32 MP front-facing snapper.
Internally, Samsung is expected to power its upcoming Galaxy M31s with their tried and tested Exynos 9611 processor, and the recent Geekbench listing also points towards the same. We have seen Exynos 9611 in the past M series devices, and it's not as powerful such as Snapdragon 730G or Helio G90T, but believe me, it's no slouch. Exynos 9611 can comfortably handle your daily tasks without breaking a sweat, and it can also run intense games like COD and PUBG at decent frame rates without hindering the gameplay.
Samsung M series' major USP lies in its battery department, and Samsung will follow the same tradition with the Galaxy M31s too. Samsung Galaxy M31s will borrow the massive 6000 mAh battery from its predecessor and will come with support for fast charging.
Recently, few leaked renders and images of the Galaxy M31s are surfacing online. The leaked render points towards the omission of the fingerprint sensor from the rear panel and a centrally aligned punch hole to the front. Considering the leaks and renders, we can expect Galaxy M31s to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor. Since Galaxy M31 was launched with a 6.4" FHD+ AMOLED display, we can expect Samsung similar panel in the M31s, and it will come with a standard 60 Hz refresh rate.
Samsung Galaxy M31 was launched in India for Rs.14,999 for the base 6GB+64GB configuration, and soon it was increased to Rs.17,499 due to the GST hike for smartphones. Going by this pricing, we can expect Samsung Galaxy M31s to priced below Rs.20,000 for the base configuration.
Disclaimer: Since Samsung is yet to launch the Galaxy M31s smartphone in India, please take all the above information with a pinch of salt.
